York County man dies after a tree falls on him

UPDATE 9/9/20 – The victim was identified as 54-year-old Eli Beiler. His cause of death was initially attributed to traumatic asphyxiation, but it has now been updated to multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries

Warrington Township, PA – An unidentified man has died after the tree he was cutting down fell on him.

According to York County Coroner Pamela Gay, the man was cutting down a tree around 7:30 PM when it fell on him, she said, and his cause of death has been determined to be traumatic asphyxiation.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:30 PM. The man’s name will be released once his family members have been notified of his death.
