Alleged illegal logger killed by a falling tree in Thai forest

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand – 41-year-old Suthin Laoklang, an alleged illegal logger, died after he was struck by a falling tree.

According to reports, Laoklang and his “gang” were harvesting Siamese rosewood trees and one of the tree fell on him.

Wang Nam Khiao Forest Protection Unit were alerted on Sunday to the illegal logging in Pa Phu Luang national forest. They rushed to investigate the scene and found a 26-year-old suspect and the body of his dead colleague, along with a chainsaw and 24 logs of Siamese rosewood.
