Woman loses leg after rope gets caught in a wood chipper

Ashland City, TN РJessi Bagwell was injured Monday while working with a tree crew in Cheatham County.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene around 8:30 AM in reference to the incident involving a woman working with a tree trimming crew.

Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove said that the woman’s leg was amputated when a rope got caught in the chipper and wrapped around her leg and severing it.

Bagwell was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

One report stated that physicians had to fully amputate her legs below the knee.
