Puno, Peru – A day of celebration turned to tragedy for one carnival goer in Peru. Joel Ticora a local man died when he was crushed by a falling tree.

People then dance around it and take turns trying to chop it down with an ax. A person gets three strikes to the tree then the ax is passed to the next person until the tree eventually falls. Once the tree falls, everyone rushes to grab a present from the branches of the tree.
