Sarasota, FL – A worker trimming trees was fatally electrocuted by a low hanging power line. The man was trimming trees damaged by Hurricane Irma in a bucket truck when he touched a live overhead power line. Emergency crews responded to the scene but were unable to immediately treat the man because he was still up in the elevated platform next to a live power line. Florida Power & Light responded to the scene to de-energize the line. The man was declared dead a short time later. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has launched an investigation.
