Exeter, NH – 44-year-old Keith Hussey was killed on Friday when he was struck by a tree while working at a job site. According to police, emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 11:30 a.m. Friday after the Rochester man was hit by a tree and died at the scene.
Police have released few details, saying only that other employees were working with Hussey and that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and is investigating the incident.
Candy Knox, Hussey’s fiance, said no one was cutting the tree that hit him. She described it as a “freak accident” and is still waiting for more information on exactly what happened.
“They weren’t even working on that particular tree. They were working on a tree next to it,” Knox said.
A representative from Urban Tree Service of Rochester issued a statement on Hussey’s death but did not comment on the investigation or the details of the accident.
“On Friday we did lose an important and valued member of our family at Urban Tree Service and right now we are mourning his passing and offering condolences to his family and loved ones. At this moment we are not commenting beyond this,” the representative said.
Hussey had worked as a foreman for Urban Tree Service for 12 years.
