Tree service worker cuts forearm with chainsaw

Beloit, WI – An unidentified tree service worker needed a tourniquet after cutting his arm with a chainsaw. Authorities arrived to the scene to find a man with a cut about halfway through his forearm. The worker was part of a two man crew cutting pine trees. The injured man was 8 – 10 feet up in the bucket of a lift when the accident occurred. His coworker didn’t immediately realize what happened and the injured man was able to get down and walk to a nearby pickup truck. The man collapsed next to the truck but remained conscious. Authorities applied a tourniquet because it was estimated the man lost about two to three quarts of blood. The man was transported to the hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.
