Tree climber suffers arm laceration from chainsaw kickback

A 31 year old tree climber from Hinchinbrook was injured when his chainsaw kicked back and cut him. The man climbed a tree to remove some branches when during a cut the chainsaw bounced back and hit his left forearm. He was able tend to his own would by using the first aid kit attached to his climbing harness. A bandage was used to stop the bleeding. The man was able to lower himself to the ground and wait for an ambulance to arrive. The man was conscious, although he had lost a lot of blood, and transported to Royal North Shore hospital for treatment. He has since been released from the hospital.
