Tree climber injured after falling 30 feet at townhouse complex in Mahwah

Mahwah, NJ – A 23-year-old man as injured after he fell 30 feet while working in a tree Wednesday morning. Police responded to the scene at 8:32 AM and learned the man was using a rope harness while clearing foliage from transmission wires. He is an employee of JAFLO Inc.

According to Police Chief James Batelli, the man had some difficulties with the rope and a knot on the harness shortly before the fall.

The victim was conscious when police arrived and complained of back pain and other non-life-threatening injuries. Mahwah Emergency Medical Services and paramedics responded and took the man to Hackensack University Medical Center.
