31-year-old Alex Black died after falling approximately 40 feet out of a tree.
According to a post on Treebuzz.com Black had a workplace accident at around 3:30 PM. His co-worker stated that Black was lowering out one last piece of wood. He made the cut and the wood was being lowered when something happened.
Alex said oh s***, and when his co-worker turned around, he saw Alex fall. Black received immediate aid from co-workers and even a school nurse from where they were working. Unfortunately his internal injuries were too severe for him to survive.
At this time it is unclear how the accident happened. OSHA came to the scene and stated that “everything looks pretty normal.”
What is know is that his rope and lanyard were not cut nor did he succumb to harness failure.
