New Orleans, LA – An unidentified tree climber was rescued by the New Orleans Fire Department after suffering a medical emergency.
The man was found unconscious and suspended in the air from a safety harness around 9:45 AM, according to NOFD spokeswoman Capt. Nathel Morgan. He was cutting a tree when his body “went limp,” she said.
Power lines in the area were cut off so that firefighters could retrieve the mans body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial call indicated the man may have been electrocuted, but EMS spokesman Lt. Jonathan Fourcade said responders believe it may have been a medical emergency. It is not yet known what caused the man’s death.
