Tree care worker partially severs his arm with a chainsaw

New York, NY – 49-year-old Richard Tirado was saved by two NYPD officers after suffering a severe arm laceration. Reports say that Tirado partially severed his arm while working and his co-workers put him in a pickup truck in an attempt to get him to the hospital.

Co-workers flagged down two NYPD officers who applied a tourniquet after they realized Tirado cut an artery. Officers applied as much aid as possible until an ambulance arrived. He was then transported to Jacobi Hospital, where he is recovering and in stable condition.
