Terex launches its Positive Attachment Lanyard warning device (PAL)

Terex utilities launched a production version of its Positive Attachment Lanyard (PAL) warning system. The PAL alerts the operator and any of the coworkers when their harness lanyard is not attached to the platform anchor point when operating one of its aerial lift platforms.

The device works similarly to the seatbelt warning system in an automobile.  It warns the operator with a visual and audible warning but it does not lock out the controls of the machine.

Terex hopes the PAL warning device will reduce the chances of an operator using the platform without attaching the safety harness.

Terex Utilities PAL warning device is available on its Hi-Ranger TL and XTPro aerial work platforms. It is also available in a retrofit kit.
