A Silicon Valley company named Allbirds has developed a shoe made from eucalyptus fibers. Co-founder Joey Zwillinger, a biotech engineer, said the company has been developing the new material since its launch two years ago. There are two types of the shoe made from tree fibers for sale, tree skippers, and tree runners. The new material that wicks away sweat is said by Allbirds to be comfortable, breathable, and silky smooth.
The company stated that the new line of eucalyptus shoes will require only five percent of the resources currently used in a traditional shoe made of rubber, leather, plastic or a combination.
