Shippensburg man killed in Fulton County logging accident

Licking Creek Township, PA – 44 year old Richard L. Johnson II died after being struck in the head by a falling tree. Reports say that Johnson was harvesting logs on private property. He had felled a tree and was limbing it up when an adjacent tree fell on him. Johnson’s father, who was driving the truck they were using to haul the harvested logs, discovered his son’s body at about 11:30 a.m. Monday. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
