NJ man trapped by fallen tree for 9 hours before police are called

Mt. Olive, NJ – A 63 year old man was injured by a tree he was cutting in a wooded area off Stephens State Park Road. At some point after the man was injured he was able to reach his cellphone and call his wife. His wife in turn then called the victim’s son. Police weren’t called until 9:51 PM. It was determined that the victim was attempting to cut a tree with a chainsaw around noon, when the tree snapped and fell on him. The victim was apparently deer hunting in the area where he cut the tree. The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries by the Budd Lake First Aid Squad and was then airlifted to Morristown Medical Center.
