Motorcyclist killed by a tree that fell the wrong way

Davidsonville, MD – 51-year-old Michael Anthony Morales was killed when a tree fell onto his vehicle Tuesday afternoon. According to the investigation, Morales was driving south on Patuxent River Road on his 2012 BMW R1200 motorcycle. A tree fell into the roadway where he was driving and landed on top of him. A tree company had been removing trees from a wooded area off the road at the time of the accident.

Authorities stated, Loveville Timberworks, a business based out of Mechanicsville, had been clearing trees from the northbound side of Patuxent River Road when a tree being removed fell in the opposite the intended direction and hit the motorcycle.

Morales was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is on going.
