Man working on Easton power line trapped under fallen tree branch

North Easton, MA – A man in his 30s was injured while trying to free a fallen tree from a power line. The man was part of a four man crew hired by National Grid to clear a branch that had be blown over by high winds from tropical storm Jose. Easton fire Captain Evan Malone said the crew was focused on removing the “fairly large” tree, which was about 2 feet in diameter, when a branch of the tree fell and trapped the worker on the ground. The man’s leg was injured by the fallen tree. It wasn’t immediately clear how the branch became dislodged and fell. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
