Man trimming a tree rescued after being injured 30 feet in the air

Evanston, IL – A man only identified as a tree trimmer was rescued after becoming injured in a tree. Fire Division Chief Paul Polep says the tree trimmer was 30 feet or more up a tree and roped in when a limb apparently broke and he fell and became lodged in between two branches.

Polep says the branches and ropes were cutting off his air supply and he wasn’t breathing by the time firefighters were able to get him out of the tree.

They began cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transported him to Evanston Hospital where his condition is unknown.
