Man suffers chainsaw injury while building tree stand

Naples, NY – 23-year-old Nathan Deneef was transported to the hospital after suffering a chainsaw laceration. Nathan and his brother Joshua were climbing an oak tree near County Road in Naples to clear a tree for a tree stand.

Nathan was cutting a tree limb approximately 4 feet over his head with a chainsaw while standing on another limb nearly 8 feet off the ground.

Once the saw penetrated the tree limb, the weight of the saw along with the applied pressure brought the power tool down, penetrating into Nathan’s leg.

The chainsaw cut into his left thigh caused a severe laceration. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for a non-life-threatening injury.
