Man killed in a logging accident on private property near Chehalis

Chehalis, WA – 63 year old Robert Becker died following a logging accident on private property. Becker’s 68 year old brother told deputies that the two of them were logging on the property using a tree processor “when a tree fell in an unexpected trajectory.” Becker tried to outrun the falling tree but was unsuccessful. When the tree struck him it caused extensive head and chest injuries and Becker died of his injuries. Both brothers were experienced loggers and the logging equipment on the property belonged to them. The logging activity was not done in connection with a business.
