Man killed by widowmaker in Cambria County

A man in his 20s was killed in a logging incident in Cambria County around 10:30 this morning. The man was worked for his father’s logging company. The accident happened when a tree he was felling had a limb wedged in it from an adjacent tree. When the tree fell, the limb broke free and struck him in the shoulder. The man died at the scene.

UPDATE: The victim was identified as 20-year-old Benuel Swarey, of Allensville. Swarey was cutting trees with his father, who owned Pine Hollow Logging, and another man when he died. Swarey was an Old Order Amish logger.
