Man Killed In Apparent Chainsaw Accident While On The Job In Citrus Heights

Citrus Heights, CA – 36 year old Fernando Hernandez has died after cutting himself with a chainsaw. Police arrived to the scene at around 10:30 AM to find a Hernandez unresponsive and suspended 40-50 feet up a tree. After retrieving the him from the tree he had no pulse and it was evident he had a wound from a chainsaw.

According to Cal/OSHA spokesperson Julia Bernstein, the man was working with the chainsaw when a branch fell, causing the chainsaw to come towards him and injured him. He was soon pronounced dead. Hernandez was employed by Bell’s Tree Service.
