A man was injured in a logging accident in a remote area of Polk County. The man was pinned underneath a stump sometime around 8:30am. First responders weren’t called until 9:26 am due to the lack of cell phone service. The logging crew freed the man, put him on a stretcher and drove him down the mountain to where a call could be made. The man was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
