Worcester, UK – 34 year old Kieron Robbins was injured after a 90 foot ash tree, that he was cutting down, fell on his legs. He stated that the tree “sprung up and hit him in the chest”. The tree knocked him back about 6 feet from where he had been cutting. Robbins was drifting in and out of consciousness but was able to cut himself free with his chainsaw. Once free he was able to use his cellphone to call for help because initially it was trapped in his pocket under the tree. Robbins was put on a body-splint stretcher and carried up an embankment, before being airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by helicopter. He suffered a broken ankle, bruising, and torn ligaments.
