Man dies in suspected logging accident

Kyogle, Australia – 24-year-old Kelvin O’Neill died in a suspected logging accident Tuesday afternoon. Officers received a call at about 3:45 PM and when police arrived at the scene they found his co-workers performing CPR. The accident happened deep in the woods and was only accessible to four-wheel drive vehicles. Police took over CPR compression and when paramedics arrived they tried to revive him but were unsuccessful. O’Neill was pronounced dead at the scene around 4:45 PM.

It is not clear how Kelvin received his injuries. Richmond Police District Inspector Nicole Bruce said, “It is possible he received them from a worksite machine or a large log pinned him to a tree. Workcover will be attending today to investigate and police will prepare for the Coroner.”
