Jefferson County worker dies after being hit by car clearing a tree

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as David Reynolds.

Hueytown, AL – A Jefferson County worker was killed early Sunday when he was hit by a vehicle while trying to clear a downed tree from the roadway.

The Jefferson County Roads and Transportation worker was cutting up a tree to clear the road at 2:15 AM when a motorist struck him. He was taken to an undisclosed hospital where he later died.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
