Saugerties, NY – 60-year-old Myles Putman died after he was struck by a tree branch cut by a central Hudson contractor just after 2 PM on Tuesday. Putman was hit in the head by the branch when he stepped out of his front door to check on the progress of tree work being performed on the utility’s behalf by Jaflo.
Putman was treated at the scene by members of Diaz Ambulance and the Centerville/Cedar Grove Fire Company before being airlifted to the Albany Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said the incident appears to have been “an unfortunate accident”.
