Groundworker shocked after touching an energized truck

Bala Cynwyd, PA – An unidentified ground worker was injured after being shocked by an energized truck.

Reports say that a tree removal company was cutting down a tree when a branch swayed and hit a SEPTA power line.

A worker then came into contact with the bumper of the utility truck during which an electric current traveled down the tree, through the truck and shocked the worker.

When paramedics arrived the man was lying on the ground conscious and awake, however, he was severely injured. The worker had severe burns all over his body with the worst being on his elbows and his ankles.

He was taken to Lankenau Hospital.
