Faulty safety line being blamed for fall, claiming the life of a tree trimmer

Bloomfield Hills, MI – A 40 year old Detroit man has died after a 40 – 50 foot fall from a tree. The man was trimming branches and vines out of a large tree in a wooded area with a chainsaw and handsaw. At some point the man fell from the tree and landed directly on his head. Three co-workers were on the job but not in the area when the man fell. Emergency personnel tried to provide medical care but it was determined that the man was already deceased.

Investigators stated that no one had witnessed the accident. They continued by stating that a faulty safety line is believed to be a factor in the fall. The man was wearing safety gear at the time of the accident.
