Environment Agency employee dies after being hit by falling tree at Shepperton Lock

Shepperton Lock, United Kingdom – An unidentified Environment Agency employee died while carrying out river maintenance.

According to reports, emergency personnel arrived to the scene around 12:30 PM following reports of a man being hit by a falling tree.

Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

An Environment Agency spokesperson confirmed he was carrying out work on its behalf, saying: “Tragically, one of our employees was killed whilst carrying out river maintenance work.

“This is a terrible incident and our thoughts are foremost with their family, friends, and colleagues at this time. We will be informing the Health and Safety Executive of this incident.”
