Contractor crushed while removing trees in an excavator

32 year old Luis Albaro Ortega-Ortega was killed removing trees in the upper student parking lot of Naugatuck High School. Ortega-Ortega was using a mini-excavator to remove trees when he was pinned between the arm of the machine and the cab. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Ortega-Ortega was working for Valley Tree Landscaping Service. The company was subcontracted by the school and had been working there for days. Police are investigating along with OSHA.
