Climber accidently struck by limb that swung at him

Benton Harbor, MI – A 55-year-old tree climber was sent to the hospital after being struck by a limb. According to reports, the man was harnessed to the tree and attempting to cut down a large limb. The limb dropped and inadvertently struck him. It is unclear if the limb was being lowered with a rope, or just being dropped.

Emergency crews responded to the wooded area around 3 PM. They freed him from the harness and airlifted him to Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was said to have broken two femurs and an arm but the injures are non-life threatening.
