City of Vancouver arborist dies after being crushed by a tree limb

43 year old Jody Taylor, a Vancouver city employee, has died after receiving injuries when he was struck by a limb. Taylor was up in a bucket truck removing limbs from a Catalpa tree, when one of the limbs fell on top of the bucket and crushed him against the inside of the basket. The large Catalpa limb barber chaired and fell unexpectedly. He was rushed to the hospital where he died later of his injuries. Taylor worked for the city for 16 years as a Certified Arborist. This is the first accident for the city of Vancouver since 1997.

The city of Vancouver will release a full report in 30 days.
