Chattanooga man needs 20 to 30 stitches after tree cutting accident

Marion County, TN – A man and his wife, believed to be in their 50’s, were both injured after in a logging accident in Marion County. The man was struck in the head while cutting down a tree on a steep slope. When authorities arrived they found the man sitting on top of a two foot diameter stump with his shirt pulled over his head to attempt to stop the bleeding. The man could not recall how the accident happened as authorities believed he had a concussion. The man’s wife broke her arm in two places when she fell down the steep slope trying to help her husband. The couple was taken by ambulance to Erlanger hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
