A bucket truck operator was injured when the boom he was operating overturned. The truck was set up too close to a ditch on a gravel road. The loose ground caused the outrigger to sink. The operator extended the boom over the 7.2kV single phase line and was approximately 50 feet in the air when the truck toppled. The boom broke the high voltage wire and crashed through trees as it fell. The operator suffered a fractured elbow and major bruising to his left thigh. The truck belonged to Lake States Tree Service.
