Australian man dies while removing a tree Oak Bay

Oak Bay, British Columbia, Canada – Eddie Mather died on Tuesday while working to remove a Garry oak tree.

Reports say that Oak Bay police were called to the scene around 9:30 AM to reports of an accident. Investigators are saying this it is too early to determine what was the cause of the accident but stated that Mather was an experienced arborist and tragically died while performing his duties.

At the time of the accident, the crew tried to save Mather’s life before realizing that they were in danger. A large limb was suspended above them and was only being held up by the utility wires.

Worksafe BC, the corner’s office, and local police are all investigating the accident.
