Asplundh worker killed after tree barber chairs

Avonmore, PA – 59 year old John M. Guyer passed away at Allegheny General Hospital from injuries after being struck by a tree. The tree crew was dropping a 65 foot dead Ash tree and attached a pull rope and a bull rope to pull the tree over. The two ropes put the tree under tension which caused it to barber chair and fall in an uncontrolled manner. Guyer was making the back cut when the tree barber chaired. He was struck by the falling tree.
