Asplundh worker dies after tree falls on him

Taylorsville, NC – 31 year old Brian Keith Wilmoth died while clearing storm debris off power wires. The accident happened at around 4:15 AM Wednesday morning. According to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmoth was using a chainsaw to remove a tree that had fallen on a power wire. When he cut the tree in two the power lines sprang up and threw the tree back on top of him. Wilmoth, an employee for Asplundh, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
