Arborist suffers injuries at Marine View Park

Normandy Park, WA – The city arborist suffered injuries in an accident while trying to take down a large madrone tree. The man was 50 feet up in the platform of a bucket truck, and also tied into a nearby maple tree for secondary safety. For no obvious reason, the maple tree he was tied into snapped below his harness tie. When the maple fell it injured the man, but landed on top of a madrone tree saving him from being pulled form the platform. The man lowered himself to the ground and he was visible injured. He has since been released from the hospital.
