A former Baltimore County detective dies after being struck by a tree limb

Manchester, MD – 65-year-old Kenneth Lynch Jr. died after a tree limb fell on him when he was helping his son with yardwork on Saturday.

Police and firefighters responded to the scene around 6:30 PM. Lynch became trapped under a tree limb while he was trimming trees. He was unconscious and had a large gash on his head.

A Maryland State Police helicopter flew the victim to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died at about 1 AM on Sunday.
